A brand new Magento 2 webshop for the world famous Playseat

Playseat is the manufacturer of racing and flight simulation cockpits and gaming chairs. Or as they put it: revolutionary sitting gear for active racers! Playseat was looking for a partner to develop their Magento 2 online store. Whereas they previously outsourced sales entirely to external partners, Playseat has now chosen to offer their products directly to end users via a professional and innovative online store.

Combining brand awareness and conversion

Playseat wanted to integrate the current brand website with the yet-to-be-built online store. The new store had to be focused on brand awareness and on showcasing their products. Based on these two objectives, we developed a unique design for each page within the new environment, naturally working according to the guidelines of the Playseat brand. We then custom-developed the entire front-end for them.

Magento Commerce Cloud

Playseat had already chosen the Magento Commerce Cloud solution, Adobe’s managed cloud-based e-commerce solution with integrated hosting, scalability and security. Some functionalities that Playseat wanted to use are standard in the Commerce Cloud solution but not in the Magento Enterprise version – The free Magento version in which you are responsible for hosting and infrastructure yourself.

Seamless integrations for order processing

Playseat uses Digital River to process payments and orders, so we integrated this within Magento Commerce Cloud. Besides the integration with Digital River, a connection to Ingram Micro and D&H Logistics had to be established for shipping orders and keeping track of stock. These integrations had to seamlessly connect to one another to optimally serve visitors.

Global coverage

Playseat took care of writing new content, worked hard to gather all product data and have been busy shooting a new image bank. The new online store is scheduled to go live in English soon, but before long all other languages will be added so that Playseat products can be viewed and ordered worldwide.
